The armour of God - Inspiration and Motivation

In Ephesian 6:10 Paul the apostle wrote about the armour of God.

He starts off by saying that we must put on the armour of God so that we can be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual hosts of darkness. And for that reason we need to take up the whole armour of God.
To understand how the armour of God applies to our lives we need to understand that God operates in the spirit world because God is spirit, and He lives in each and every one of us. He is the power that created the heaven and earth and everything in it, just by speaking a word.
God is in you and He is me. We all have equal access to Him through Jesus Christ.

But why is necessary to put on the armour of God? What is that we need protection against if God lives within us?

The answer is that we need protection from evil, and through the armour of God we can fight against the powers of darkness. On our own we can not fight satan, we don't possess the power to do so. Only God can fight Satan on our behalf.

It is only through God, with God and in God that we have the power to withstand the devil.

The first and most powerful weapon of the evil one is fear. Worry, guilt, shame, anger, bitterness, resentment, envy, jealousy are all the weapons that are being used to destroy us, and to stop us from hearing God's voice. All those ugly emotions and poisonous thoughts are keeping us from living freely in God, and to get to know Him.

If we want to able to stand against the evil one, we must know the Word of God, and how to apply the power that He freely gives us through His word. When Jesus was tempted by Satan, He kept on saying , "It is written."

When an ugly thought comes unexpectedly, don't try to analyse it, you immediately use the Word of God to say, "It is written..."

And this is where you will put on the armour of God. to use as your strategy against vile thoughts, terrible emotions or awful words you wanted to utter to hurt someone else.

But what is your strategy right now? What do you use to fight against the evil of this world? Or are you part of the evil of this world? Are you part of the strategies that Satan uses to hurt, steal and destroy?
Or are you one of the servants of God who stand with, for and in God?

With God we can take on any enemy, with God we can stand firm against Satan. This is a fierce battle that is raging every moment of every day, and we need strength to fight it. When we we put on the whole armour of.God, it helps to not only to fight the battle but it gives us the strength to stand strong when the battle is won. Instead of being weak and defeated after the battle, God's armour empowers and strengthen us.

This is a spiritual war. It's war in your mind, a war in your heart, a war for your soul. What do you do when the battle comes? Are you the one who's a stumbling block for the children of God? Are you the one who do the world of Satan, but you are disguised as a child of God? Are you the one making the lives of the children of God hell on earth? Or are you a warrior of God?

We can not stand or fight on our our own. We need God for everything. He empowers and equips us with weapons to fight whatever might come against us.

And to access this power we need to put on the whole armour of God. Not just a shoe, or one piece of it, but the whole armour of God.

Put on Faith, Truth, Peace, Righteousness, Salvation and the Word of God. And keep on praying. That is what we must put on every day to stand firm in God.

Remember that Satan doesn't announce himself when he comes. He doesn't show up and say, "Hello, here I am, I've come to destroy your life," or "I've come to rob you of your finances," or "I'm here to steal your faith," or "I want to ruin your marriage," or "I want you to feel bad and lonely, afraid and unloved." No, that not how he operates. He comes through a back door, unannounced, secretly, quietly. He arrives with a whisper here, a thought there, a feeling there... But when are wearing the whole armour of God we will be aware and conscious of the tricks.

We will be aware of where we put our attention, what we focus on; we will be able to recognise Satan and see him for who and what he is.

You are covered and dressed in the armour of God that can only be found when you spend time with God. And you're covered in the blood of Jesus Christ. Our part is to put on the armour of God.

Put on the peace, live with righteousness, walk in truth, live with faith, accept the salvation, and carry the Word. And always pray.
That is all part of the armour of God. Let's take it, let's wear it and let's honour God through it.

All I want for lockdown is....sleep

I also thought I was a productive person but after looking at the Facebook status of many people I realised that I'm so far from it.  At first I was in awe of all these creations that were being showcased on Facebook. And then I  looked on Instagram and I became depressed, really depressed, wondering if I was the only one in the whole world who was not in the mood for baking or cooking.  All I wanted to do was stay in bed and stare at the wall until lockdown was over. And when I imagined all the cooking and baking going on in other houses I got more depressed.  Someone posted a fat juicy steak on Instagram and my first thought was how do you cook a steak that thick. And I sunk even deeper into depression because my steak cooking abilities are so bad that we  stopped buying it. And we all pretend that we don't eat it. The only words concerning meat in our home are pork, beef and chicken. And we break it further down into mince, wors and bacon, but we don't ever speak about s

Saving? You mean I can actually do this?

The other day I was asked a question of what would encourage a person to save. And I fluffed the answer entirely. I went home and I thought about it. And then it came to me. A crisis, that is what will cause most of us to save. Life has the ability to smack us now and then but the smacks come with different degrees of pain. First it will smack us and we'll just shrug it off, and move on. Then life smacks us again, only this time we see stars. But still we just wipe the tears and move on. Then life smacks us so hard that we stumble, fall, crumble and pass out. And then when you wake up, everything you've ever worked for has disappeared, and you have nothing left. And you have to start from scratch, with nothing, zero, zilch, nada. This is usually the time that you also learn to appreciate and understand the value of money. Because it will be gone. Then and only then as we start recovering from that financial disaster, do we start changing our ways. And then we start sa
